The Center was borne out of the understanding of the Lagos State government, of the need to stem the tide of needless deaths and disabilities arising from various forms of injuries in our State and immediate surroundings.
With health as one of the pillars of the THEMES agenda of this administration, no effort is being spared in ensuring that victims of accidents and other injuries in the State receive the best care they can get.
In partnership with like-minded stakeholders, efforts are also in place to replicate the Trauma Emergency hospital along key entry routes into the States.
The government’s goal is to make the best emergency trauma care services available to victims of injuries in the State such that the cost of emergency care is never the reason anyone is denied care.
Ultimately, this is in line with the UN General Assembly resolution A/RES/74/299 declaring a “Decade of Action 2021 – 2030” for “Improving global road safety”. Thus, the State is poised to reduce deaths from Road Traffic Accidents by 50% by the year 2030.
